Studying and Teaching Our Complicated Histories
Redwood Writing Project (RWP) hosted a four-day summer institute, six monthly follow-through history presentations, and monthly smaller inquiry focus group sessions. The project began with participants discussing scholarly information, texts, and resources focused on untold local histories of Humboldt County and California. The project culminated with the creation of 15 classroom units on topics including Native American removal in Humboldt County, Chinese immigration and exclusion in the area, and more.
