The Library at Cal Poly Humboldt is home to a collection of science fiction and fantasy magazines ranging from 1909 to 2007. The issues in this collection are one of the earliest offerings in the genre of  Science Fiction. The earliest holding is The Argosy from 1909, and the latest is from Analog Science Fiction and Fact, which is still being published today.

 Influential Authors within the Collection

The Science Fiction Collection webpage started as a side project during my role as a student assistant in Special Collections in the Cal Poly Humboldt Library. I assembled a list of some of science fiction's influential authors published in the collection, and the issues and volumes they were in. This turned into a spreadsheet to track all issues in the collection, and helped to put them in the Library catalog. An internship was formed to further this work, and included this webpage containing information on the collection to make it more accessible to library patrons and the public. The best part of the project has been knowing that it will serve as a gateway to the Science Fiction Collection for anyone interested in Science Fiction.
