The Science Fiction Collection webpage started as a side project during my role as a student assistant in Special Collections in the Cal Poly Humboldt Library. I assembled a list of some of science fiction's influential authors published in the collection, and the issues and volumes they were in. This turned into a spreadsheet to track all issues in the collection, and helped to put them in the Library catalog. An internship was formed to further this work, and included this webpage containing information on the collection to make it more accessible to library patrons and the public. The best part of the project has been knowing that it will serve as a gateway to the Science Fiction Collection for anyone interested in Science Fiction.
