For Faculty

Cal Poly Humboldt Faculty who are interested starting a field school, International Service Learning Program (ISLP), or pursuing an agreement with an overseas institution are encouraged to connect with the Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences to start the process. New programs can take up to two years to come to fruition so it is advisable to start the process as soon as possible.

Faculty-Led Study Abroad Programs (FLSAP)

Faculty-led programs include field schools and International Service Learning Programs and have included destinations like Belize, Macedonia, Costa Rica, France and Spain.

Proposal Process

  1. Review the FLSAP Proposal Checklist and familiarize yourself with the process and deadlines.  The faculty lead is responsible for following the checklist outline and meeting deadlines outlined in the process.
  2. Complete the FLSAP Proposal
  3. Prepare all required, supporting documentation. Once that is done,
  4. Start the FLSAP Approval Routing Adobe Sign process
  5. Once all the documentation has been submitted to the Study Abroad Coordinator, a meeting with the International Program Review Committee (IPRC) will be scheduled. The IPRC will review the materials and choose to recommend (or not) this program.

Memorandums of Understanding with Institutions

The Cal Poly Humboldt Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is a non-binding document signed by both parties as a statement of partnership intent and a first step toward developing binding agreements. This process is a key factor in relationship building, partnerships and starting an exchange program.
