Explore, Learn, Grow: Embark on unforgettable outdoor adventures infused with Black cultural knowledge and perspectives. From paddling on the Humboldt Bay, farming, to camping trips and engaging workshops, you'll expand your horizons, deepen your understanding, and forge lasting connections with the environment and each other. Please note that programming such as the Annual Paddle Out on Humboldt Bay or our Camping Trips require registration with the Umoja Center.

Each start of the semester the Umoja Center, in collaboration with the Gutswurrak Student Activity Center to welcome our new and returning students and engage them with the Umoja Center for Pan African Student Excellence and our programs and services. Meet other students, staff, faculty, and campus organizations while enjoying food, music, and an ongoing raffle for prizes!

Black Liberation Month

Black Graduate Cultural Celebration
Uplift. Honor. Congratulate.
Each year, the Umoja Center for Pan African Student Excellence hosts the Annual Black Graduate Cultural Celebration. It is here we invite campus staff, faculty, current students, alumni, and family & friends to celebrate our Black Graduates on our campus. Grounded in cultural practice, each ceremony aims to highlight our graduates in a meaningful way through a presentation of our graduates, catered food and refreshments, and uplifting music.
