General Hours for Medical and Counseling Services

Please check below for open dates/hours throughout the year as hours are variable and, in particular, may change during holiday, winter, and summer breaks.  CAPS hours sometimes differ from those of our medical clinic.

  • Summer services are generally limited to half days.  Self-scheduling will be available through the health portal.

During the academic year (excluding holidays), we are generally available as follows:

• Medical and Counseling appointments (telehealth and in-person) - call ahead of time during business hours to schedule.  For medical: (707) 826-3146.  For CAPS: (707) 826-3236.
  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:45am to 12pm and 1:00pm to 4:15pm
  • Tuesday & Thursday: 9:45am to 12pm and 1:00pm to 4:15pm
  • Clinic closed 12pm to 1pm for lunch;
  • See below for pharmacy hours and closure dates; pharmacy closed 12pm to 1:30pm

• Immunization Clinic Hours (during our academic year)
  Tuesday and Wednesday only:      
  10:00am to 11:30am and 1:00pm to 3:00pm
• Tuberculosis Testing (TB) Hours

  10:00am to 11:30am  and 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Pharmacy Hours

• Monday, Wednesday, Friday:       
  9:30am to 12:00pm and 1:30pm to 4:15pm
• Tuesday and Thursday:                
  10:00am to 12:00pm and 1:30pm to 4:15pm
• Pharmacy is closed for lunch and afternoon preparation from 12pm-1:30pm

• NOTE: Cal Poly Humboldt PHARMACY will be CLOSED on the following dates during Spring 2026 semester in addition to weekends, holidays, and dates indicated on the Health Center Medical Clinic Student Calendar - updated 01/21/2026:

• Last day of pharmacy services for Spring 2026 semester will be Friday 05/22/2026  9am to 12pm**
• NO SPECIAL ORDER REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER FRIDAY 05/15/2026
   
• During periods that the pharmacy is closed during regular pharmacy operating hours of the Student Health Center AND you want your student account billed, prescriptions can be sent to Barnes Arcata Family Drug  (you will be CHARGED the Student Health Center Pharmacy price on your Student Center account).
  • This is ONLY for In-House formulary prescription medications - NO over-the-counter items or special orders. 
    PICK UP the SAME DAY the medication is prescribed if sent to Barnes for Student Account Billing - this student account billing service with Barnes Arcata Family Drug is ONLY available on the SPECIFIC DAYS that the In-House Pharmacy is closed during regular pharmacy operating hours of the Student Health Center.
  • Please be aware that student account billing for prescriptions received at Barnes Arcata Family Drug on In-House Pharmacy closure dates may be delayed up to a few months (particularly if service was received late Spring semester).
• FPACT prescriptions can be processed at ANY California retail pharmacy.
• If you are willing to wait until the pharmacy reopens, feel free to request your prescription be filled at the In-House Pharmacy.

Appointments

For non-urgent matters, please make an appointment by calling (707) 826-3146.  Some appointments can be made through your Health Portal.

If you need to cancel an appointment, please call as soon as you know you will be unable to make it. This allows us to use the open appointment spot for someone else, and to provide services for as many patients as possible each day.  We appreciate your consideration.

No-Show Charge     

A no-show fee of $30 will be charged to your account each time you:

1. do not show up for your appointment,
2. do not call to cancel (707 826-3146), or
3. are sufficiently late so that another patient cannot be scheduled in that slot.

Same Day Service

For urgent medical needs, you may speak to a receptionist or call to discuss your concerns and determine if urgent care is appropriate for same day service.  Please keep in mind that wait times can be long, depending on the number of students who need urgent care. If your condition is not urgent, we request that you schedule an appointment. Students who come for urgent care are generally seen in the order that they check in; however, this may vary depending on the urgency of the medical condition.
