Well done - The Center for Teaching & Learning Spotlight

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) has had a productive year advancing teaching excellence and innovation at Cal Poly Humboldt! CTL launched a Certificate for Teaching Excellence in Online Courses, published three papers, and conducted over 300 faculty consultations. The team processed more than 600 Canvas help requests, provided 75 mid-semester feedback sessions, and completed 40 multimedia projects with campus partners. CTL also built new Teaching and Academic Technology Hubs, expanded Learning 101 with AI-focused modules for students, and hosted Faculty Learning Communities on topics from learning outcomes assessment to equity and student success.

Engagement with the Othering and Belonging Institute

Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) leaders Fernando Paz and Rosamel Benavides-Garb, along with Equity Arcata Co-Manager Mo Harper-Desir, are participating in a six-month national cohort with UC Berkeley’s Othering and Belonging Institute. This collaboration deepens ODEI’s engagement with frameworks of structural belonging, targeted universalism, and institutional transformation, strengthening Cal Poly Humboldt’s ongoing work to advance systemic equity and inclusion.

Have a terrific day.
