Michael Johnson

Michael Johnson recently retired from being the faculty lighting instructor/designer for the Department of Dance at Allan Hancock College, Santa Maria Ca. & The Theatre Department at Butte College, Chico Ca and Lighting Director & Production Manager for California State University, Chico’s School of the Arts.  

Mike freelances as a lighting designer & technical director. He is an Humboldt State University alumni & is very excited to be a part of Cal Poly, Humboldt.

He is currently the Lighting Director for Butte College and technical director / lighting designer for the Cabrillo Contemporary Music Festival in Santa Cruz. Michael has worked at: University of California, Santa Barbara, Ensemble Theatre, Santa Barbara Ca., Pacific Conservatory for the Performing Arts, Santa Maria Ca., Empty Space Theatre, Seattle Wa. & recently has designed lights for several musicals at Chico State University.

Mike enjoys the outdoors, golfing and a good barbecue.
