Robin Rader
Environmental Studies, 2015
Robin is unsure when her last update was, but she had a baby two and a half years ago! She's been a stay-at-home mom ever since and is taking drone courses to get a commercial license for flying one. She's not exactly sure what she'll do with that, but she can be flexible with it and continue raising her son, so that’s a plus! Robin loves being a mom! She says it’s so awesome watching her son grow and learn. We garden, and he loves it. They hike, cook, and learn together; what a beautiful thing!
Ashley (Perez) Mezeske
Environmental Studies, Emphasis in second language proficiency, 2015
Ashley moved her family from Humboldt to rural Michigan in August of 2023. While living in Humboldt, Ashley worked briefly in the nonprofit sector, helping to provide resources for various aspects of childcare for a local organization. She has been a stay-at-home mother after having her first child in 2018. She plans to open up her own business with an interdisciplinary environmental lens this coming year. She says the concept of a “third place” and the loss we have of them in society has become very interesting to me lately. She loves Humboldt!
Kira Yeomans
Environmental Studies, 2015
Kira Yeomans, 2015 Environmental Studies, is currently in a Environmental Studies Master's program at Antioch University in New England. She is a part of the Master's International program as well, and is under consideration for working in Malawi as a forestry volunteer for the Peace Corps where she will complete her internships. She currently works for the University on the Sustainability and Social Justice committee as well as as the development director for CTEC(The Center for Tropical Ecology and Conservation).
Julia Clark

Julia Clark, 2015 Environmental Science & Management, was elected to the board of directors of the Society for Conservation GIS, a non-profit organization that assists conservationists worldwide in using geographic information systems through communication, networking, scholarships, and training.
Kira Marie Yeomans
Environmental Studies, 2015
Kira Marie Yeomans, 2015 Environmental Studies, is currently enrolled in a masters program at Antioch University in New Hampshire. Yeomans is working on a self-designed studies program concentrating on climate change and social justice advocacy. The program includes volunteering with the Peace Corps this coming summer.
Karlee Jewell
International Studies, 2015
Karlee Jewell, International Studies, 2015, is a Local Americorps Member who was recently recognized alongside thirty young people, ages 30 and under, by the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE). The EE 30 Under 30 highlights the work of young professionals of various backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, and communities around the globe who are using education to help protect the environment. The program was started by a partnership between NAAEE and the US Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS). For more information visit:

Hadasa Villalobos
Chemistry, 2014 (summer)
Hadasa Villalobos, ’14 Chemistry, worked for E&J Gallo Winery for a harvest season after graduating HSU. Villalobos went on to working for an agricultural chemical company doing plant, water, and soil analysis. While working for the agricultural chemical company, Villalobos was also helping out a local brewery set up a QC program. She was then recruited by The Dudes Brewing Company to run their QC program, where Villalobos is currently working. Villalobos is content with her choice of attending HSU and is very appreciative of the knowledge she gained from the Chemistry Department and the time spent in it.
Jennifer Lee Swagert
English, 2014
Since graduating in 2014, Jennifer has been living on the outskirts of Seattle, WA, participating in a variety of programs that are aimed at the studying the effect that global climate has on urban rodent populations. Additionally, Jennifer will be publishing an article titled "Magic Cards and Where to Freud Them" in the Fall 2017 issue of Knucklebones magazine.
Leticia-Andrea Snoots
English, 2014
Leticia-Andrea Snoots is currently in her final year of graduate school at the University of the Pacific. Snoots is working on a Master's of Education with a concentration of Student Affairs. Snoots adds, "I am supported in this journey by my partner of five years, James, who I met as an undergraduate at Humboldt State University! Life couldn't be better!"

After 6 years working at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, I’ve gone back to get my Master’s in Education from the University of Washington in addition to a graduate certificate in Education for the Environment and Community at Islandwood on Bainbridge Island, WA.
