With Jeff Crane, Historian & Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences

Study and learn about the ancient and medieval worlds of Macedonia, Poland, and the Mayans of Belize. The course is a combination of readings as well as presentations by anthropology faculty managing research sites and field schools in these regions. You will also learn about the current research conducted there by Cal Poly Humboldt faculty, students, and staff.

Jeff Crane is an environmental historian of the American West as well as a dean at Cal Poly Humboldt University. He has taught broadly, to include histories of world civilizations and the ancient world. He has a passion for ongoing learning and joining others in dynamic discussion of the historical past.
