Location: In person: Eureka

With J Clark, Museum Manager
Redwood Coast Museum of Cinema offers tours to educate the community about the history of cinema in Humboldt and Del Norte counties, the various processes involved in film production, and opportunities for local people to participate in the film industry.
The museum's current exhibit commemorates the 4th year of the Forest Moon Festival. This local event celebrates the 1982 filming of Return of the Jedi in Humboldt and Del Norte counties. The museum also has a mini-exhibit based on the most recent movie production filmed in Humboldt County: One Battle After Another.
Other facets of this exhibit include a celebration of over 100 years of cinema history, film tourism with a Map of the Movies, lasting economic influence (local hiring, lodging, film tourism), a behind-the-scenes look at filmmaking from a local perspective, building community through collective enjoyment and costume groups, prop making, miniature set building, nostalgia, and collectables.
This tour includes standing and walking around a small museum. Seating is not available during this 1 hour class.
Registration opens for OLLI members on May 27. Non-members may register starting May 29.
