An Introduction to The Dart Procedures

Cost: $60

    Dates

  • Tues., Oct. 7-Nov. 4, 10-10:50 a.m.

Location: In person: Arcata

With James Peck, Somatic Teacher

Over the course of six weeks, you will be introduced to a means of recalibrating your body systems for health and ease. Based on Professor Raymond Dart's "Procedures," you will be taken through a series of natural movements that follow the embryonic and evolutionary development of the human being.

Commonly known as "lazy yoga," the gradual development of these movements invites the original patterning of the body. This enables ease of movement, whatever the activity.

Throughout our lives, we develop habits from moments of tension and trauma. These patterns may remain unseen and unknown. The Procedures are a way to hold up a mirror to these patterns, to give you a chance to undo harmful habits, while leaving the body to rediscover its original pattern.

All you will need to bring is a towel and a book to place under your head. The classes will include optional hands-on guidance.

Class #: 44068

Registration is now open for OLLI members. Non-members may register starting Sept. 3.
