Green Diamond is a sixth-generation, family-owned company committed to sustainability and responsible forest management. The company owns and manages working forests across nine states in the western and southern U.S., including over 440,000 acres in Del Norte, Humboldt, and Mendocino Counties in California. In addition to timber production, Green Diamond operates a wood chip facility in Humboldt Bay, generates forest offset credits registered with the California Air Resources Board, and maintains multiple Habitat Conservation Plans with beneficial outcomes for a host of special-status species. Despite this ambitious portfolio, modern forestry faces significant challenges such as increasing wildfire risks, protecting endangered species and their habitats, adapting to evolving timber harvesting methods, as well as changing environmental, social, and economic values. Elicia Goldsworthy serves as the policy and communications manager for Green Diamond Resource Company’s California timberlands. As a registered professional forester, Elicia is licensed by the State of California to practice and provide comprehensive advice on forest management in alignment with California’s environmental laws and regulations. She holds a M.A. in forestry sciences and a B.S. in natural resources management, both from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Additionally, Elicia has been appointed to the State Board of Forestry and Fire Protection, representing the interests of private forest landowners in the Coast Forest District. Residing in Arcata, Elicia enjoys life with her spouse, two children, and their dog.
