Plants of the Community Forest
Wed., Aug. 5, 1-3 p.m.
Location: In person: On Campus
Cost: $25
With Elliott Dabill, California Naturalist
This two-hour walk in the Arcata Community Forest will provide a survey of common plants, emphasizing those that are common to the redwood forests in this area. There will be some history of invasive plants that have made a home here, and the example that the Community Forest provides for sustainability.
There is ample ADA and standard parking in the parking lot by the Holly Giant Commons where the tour begins. The hike will continue in to the forest where the ground is primarily packed dirt, but can have uneven ground.
Registration opens for OLLI members on May 27. Non-members may register starting May 29.
