Learn to Lap Swim
Wed., Aug. 5 & Fri., Aug. 7, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Location: In person: On Campus
Cost: $50
With Dane Oppenborn, Lap-swimming Instructor
This class is perfect for swimmers who are ready to feel more confident, comfortable, and in-the-know during public lap swim sessions.
This class isn’t about learning how to swim -- it’s about learning how to belong in a lap lane. You’ll get the inside scoop on lap swim etiquette, from sharing lanes and circle swimming to the unspoken do’s and don’ts that make the pool run smoothly.
We’ll also mix in fun, approachable drills and skills to help boost your endurance, refine your technique, and keep your workouts interesting.
Whether you’re looking to build a routine, shake off uncertainty, or just enjoy your time in the water a bit more, this class has you covered. Each session includes plenty of time to swim at your own pace at the Cal Poly Humboldt pool.
The Kineseology Building where class takes place is located at the top of a steep hill on Union Street. There are ADA parking spots at the top of the hill behind the Student Recreation Center. Please reference this map for ADA parking & accessibility information: MAP LINK Daily parking permits are still required when parking in ADA spots on campus.
Registration opens for OLLI members on May 27. Non-members may register starting May 29.
