Setting up a Book in InDesign
Scribus: Open Source Layout Program
Adobe InDesign is the best and most professional program to lay out your book from scratch. If you are a Cal Poly Humboldt student, a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud is included in your tuition.
If this expensive program is not available to you, we suggest the open source, free progran Scribus, which can be downloaded here.
(There are also options from many on-demand printers to upload a book from Microsoft Word. They will not have bells and whistles, but will be servicible for books that are mostly text.)
