To succeed in the Master's of Sociology program and promote social justice through education and research.

Before the Program
I graduated from Grossmont college with an AA in social science. I then transferred to Cal Poly Humboldt and attained a BA in Sociology. During this time I served as a temporary student assistant to help recruit students for the department. I also interned as a grant writing associate for a nonprofit focused on homelessness in the LA and Inland empire regions.

Why Humboldt Public Sociology
Public Sociology champions social justice and environmental sustainability, which are deeply important to the future of a healthy society. In order to become a more perfect union we must guarantee the full representation of all people by promoting social, economic, and racial equality. Sociology unveils the structures of power that create inequities.
