Sara Dykman
Wildlife, 2008
Dykman's first book 'Bicycling with Butterflies' has been published. She describes it as part science, part adventure, part love letter to nature. It tells the story of her 10,201 mile bicycle adventure following the monarchs from Mexico to Canada and back in 2017. Jason Storlie

In January of 2021, Jason began a new position with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as Deputy Project Leader of Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Previous positions with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service include Wildlife Biologist with the Hopper Mountain National Wildlife Refuge Complex and Manager of Bitter Creek and Blue Ridge National Wildlife Refuges.

Megan Jones Patterson

Megan Jones Patterson, Wildlife, 2006, recently completed her PhD in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology in Emily DuVal's lab at Florida State University. Her research focused on the costs and benefits of male cooperative display behavior in White-ruffed Manakins -- a small bird living in mid-elevations in Central America. She continues her work as a staff scientist and science educator with the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON).
Kathryn Leigh Riley

Kathryn Riley recently joined the San Diego URS Corporation as a Wildlife Biologist. She is currently conducting wildlife surveys on alternative energy projects in the Sonoran and Mojave deserts of California. Her focus is on migratory birds, burrowing owls and the federally endangered desert tortoise.

I received a Master of Arts in Special Education from SF State University in 2008 and now work as a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor at Guide Dogs for the Blind in the SF Bay Area.

Colin Brayton, 2004 Wildlife, recently started Alaska Fjord Charters, in Seward, Alaska, and takes guests to the Kenai Fjords National Park, based out of Seward, Alaska.
Rhiannon Klingonsmith

Rhiannon Klingonsmith, 2004 Wildlife, has worked as a wildlife biologist in the state and private sectors since graduating. Klingonsmith has remained active in The Wildlife Society and is currently the Sacramento-Shasta chapter president for 2016.
Shad Scalvini
Wildlife, 2003
Shad Scalvini, Wildlife, 2003, previously worked for Green Diamond Timber and several consultants as a wildlife technician. Scalvini currently works as the lead Wildlife Biologist for Mendocino Redwood company (MRC) since 2012 and is in charge of the Northern Spotted owl program. Scalvini has also started a mutual program with the wildlife 311 techniques class where they hold their field trip on MRC property at Rockport Beach. We have conducted small mammal trapping, songbird, bat, & small owl mist-netting, track-plates, telemetry, herpetology surveys, etc. The last one that was held this fall, we saw an otter family, peregrine falcons, Barred owls, numerous songbirds, & 6 bat species amongst many other wildlife species.
Evan Lautzenheiser

Evan Lautzenheiser, 2003 Wildlife, worked for Green Diamond as a wildlife technician conducting spotted owl surveys after graduating. Lautzenheiser also completed a short stay in Palm Springs, Calif., working with desert bighorn sheep. In 2007 he was hired by Arizona Game and Fish as a district wildlife manager/game ranger.
