March 23, 2026

Dear Colleagues,

To all the students, faculty, staff, departments, and community members who contributed to the production of the 4th Annual Fiesta Folklórica this past weekend: Well done! Three weekend performances featured traditional Mexican dance and music by the Fiesta Folklórica Ensemble, including Ballet Folklórico, Danza Azteca, and Mariachi de Humboldt. While I most regretfully could not attend this weekend’s performances, I have been told that the concert was seamless, from the beautiful costumes, professional lighting and sound, to the fantastic performances themselves. The Van Duzer Theatre was full and the crowd was exuberant in their grito through their whoops, cheers, and whistles. All involved can be proud of this truly spectacular concert!

To learn more about Fiesta Folklórica, read the Humboldt|now column featured at this link: 4th Annual Fiesta Folklórica. Special thanks to Jacqueline Silva, Director, and the Department of Dance, Music, and Theatre for bringing this joyful event to our community.
