Provost Communication, Wednesday, August 20, 2025

October 19, 2025

Good morning and happy Wednesday. I hope your week is going well. It was awesome seeing so many of you at the University Welcome Back event yesterday morning. It was great to be in community with you all.

Please Save the Date: Academic Affairs Welcome Back and Promoted Faculty Reception: Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 4 pm-7 pm

I am so excited about the event! It will be held as a combined event, inviting you to celebrate academic affairs accomplishments over the last year, learn about the division's priorities, meet some new faces, and most importantly, celebrate our promoted faculty. This celebration will take place in the Kate Buchanan Room (KBR). More details coming soon.

Moving and Shaking in Academic Affairs

As you saw in the campus communication on Monday afternoon, there have been some changes in leadership and structure of the College of Extended Education and Global Engagement (CEEGE) over the past few months. If you missed that communication, you can read it here. As a reminder, some additional changes in leadership positions in Academic Affairs include

  • Joice Chang, Interim Associate Dean in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS)

  • Heather Madar, Interim Associate Vice President for Academic Programs and Dean of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies

  • Mark Wickland, Director of Assessment and now also the University’s Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO)

Curriculum and Scheduling Website Updates and Resources

After some structural changes in Academic Programs, there have been some changes to the websites.

You're Invited to the Library Welcome Back Open House!

The library warmly invites all new and returning students, faculty, and staff to join them in celebrating the start of a new school year.
