While I did not pursue an advanced degree in Philosophy - my bachelors in Philosophy has served me well. I feel that my written communication, critical thinking and "outside of the box" perspective have come in very handy as I have navigated my way through the business world.

Pete Narensky

Journalism, 1995

Recently retired after 24 years of service with the U.S. Customs Service and Department of Homeland Security serving as a Criminal Investigator. Mr. Narensky most recently achieved the rank of Assistant Special Agent in Charge and led a Financial Crimes Taskforce in Long Beach, CA. Mr. Narensky has started a second career working as Head of Security for the West Coast for a large global logistics company.

Recently moved from my position as senior editor for Highlights to the position of Developmental Editor at Portable Press in Ashland, Oregon, known for the amazing Uncle John's Bathroom Readers. I'll be developing books in the For Kids Only series.

I have been working as a secondary teacher for a virtual high school. I also teach vocational education classes (in a bricks and mortar class). In addition, my wife, two children and I just adopted a two year old Golden Retriever!

Philip Ross DeMontigny

History, 1995

Philip attended Humboldt State University from 1992 to 1995, where he was a student athlete competing in cross-country and track. He currently serves as a Brigadier General in the Oregon National Guard, having recently completed a tour as Chief of Staff for NATO’s Kosovo Force (KFOR). In his civilian career, he is the Agency Risk and Emergency Manager for the Washington State Department of Enterprise Services, overseeing enterprise risk management, safety, and emergency preparedness for the state capital campus. He lives with his family in Olympia, Washington.

Pamela Schwartz recently started a business working freelance as a presentation design specialist at www.butterflypam.com. A Powerpoint design pro, Schwartz specializes in helping business present a professional presentation. Schwartz also still paints and has a thriving art career.
