Michelle I Teasley (formerly Teets)
Journalism, 1998
Michelle I. Teasley (née Teets), 1998 Journalism, after working as a reporter for several years, and then being a stay-at-mom for several more, returned to school to become a registered nurse. Teasley is currently a charge nurse on the Progressive Care Unit at Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding. She lives with her husband Tim, also a 1998 HSU grad, two kids, Kara, 13, and Matthew, 11, in Anderson, Calif.
Joshua Martin (f/k/a/ Joshua Roberts)

Joshua Martin (formerly known as Joshua Roberts), 1998 English & History, worked at the Hotel Arcata for a year or so after graduating. Martin then entered law school at the University of Utah, accompanied by his girlfriend, Bonnie Jo McLauchlan (also an HSU graduate). Martin made law review, graduated, and practiced criminal defense in Salt Lake City. He later moved on to civil litigation. In 2007 Martin moved to San Louis Obispo County and opened the Law Offices of Joshua W. Martin in 2013. Martin married Bonnie Jo and the couple lives in Grover Beach, Calif., with their two boys, Max, 10, and Charlie, 5, and their dog, Scooby.
LOWELL COTTLE

After 15 years working as an environmental consultant, Lowell Cottle moved on to work for the state at the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board as an environmental scientist. Cottle is excited to be part of a team that inspects industrial sites for compliance with state and federal water codes where Cottle can really make a difference! Cottle investigates and tracks down potential sources of pollution from stormwater exposure and works with facility owners to be in compliance with the Clean Water Act.
Jerry Von Dohlen
Geography, 1998
Jerry helped design, map, and, build the first nationwide wireless internet with Metricom INC. in San Jose, California. Moved back to Humboldt County in 2003 and worked with Center Arts Entertainment (CalPolyHumboldtEvents), the Mateel Community Center on Reggae on the River, and, the Black Oak Ranch coordinating parking and traffic at Pignic, Earthdance, The Kate Wolf Memorial Music Festival, and currently Ten Mile Creek Revival. Currently serving as GIS Coordinator for the County of Humboldt, http://gis.co.humboldt.ca.us, providing data and internships to students with the Geospatial Certificate Program. Ian Thomas McDonald
Art, 1998
Ian Thomas McDonald, 1998 Art, will soon celebrate a his 10 year wedding anniversary with another HSU alumni (Natalie Covert, '97 Art). The couple’s daughter, Haddie, is turning 4 years old, and McDonald is starting a new job running the Ceramics department at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan.
Lowell Cottle

After 15 years working as an environmental consultant, Lowell Cottle moved on to work for the state at the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board as a Senior Environmental Scientist. He manages the compliance and enforcement unit for Construction and Industrial sites for 22 counties in the Central Valley. In addition to this, he also manages the Cannabis Unit. Lowell is excited to manage a team that inspects industrial and construction sites for compliance with State and Federal Water Codes, where he can really make a difference! Lowell's team investigates and tracks down potential sources of pollution from stormwater exposure and works with facility/site owners to comply with the Clean Water Act.

Matt Krupnick
Journalism, 1998
Matt Krupnick, 1998 Journalism, currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. Krupnick lives with his wife, Jennifer Kho, who is also a 1999 Journalism graduate from HSU. Krupnick is a freelance journalist for The New York Times, Guardian US, and Hechinger Report. Krupnick and Kho recently visited HSU and wished they still lived in Humboldt County.
Dafna Golden
Geography, 1997
After a successful 23-year career as a Geography Professor at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California, Dafna is fulfilling a long-time dream and moving to Israel with her husband and two boys. She credits her education in Geography at Humboldt with preparing her to become a teacher and advises many of her students to consider Cal Poly Humboldt themselves. She completed her master's degree at CSULA with an emphasis on Geographic Information Systems and has created a successful GIS program at Mt. Sac. She hopes to apply her GIS expertise in Israel to help manage the natural resources there.
Stephen L Kraynick
Journalism, 1997
Coach Kraynick (Journalism, '98) scored career tennis win No.100 at Kellis HS (Glendale, AZ) on 4/12/20. This isn't counting his head coaching collegiate wins at Lock Haven University (Lock Haven, PA) or Allan Hancock College (Santa Maria, CA). Coach Kraynick coached at the HS level in CA, PA, and AZ, winning sectional championships in all three states; in addition to winning the CCCAA divisional championship at Hancock College in 1995, he coached the Top-25 NCAA Division II women's team at Lock Haven University (1998-2000). Coach K has also worked with numerous ATP/WTA Professionals on tour.
