Lynn Enemark Pretzel

Journalism, 1988

Currently the College Counselor and Executive Assistant to the Dean of Students at St. Bernard's Catholic School in Eureka, CA. I also freelance for the Times-Standard. Live across the street from a small, quiet forest overlooking the bay south of Eureka with my 10 year old son and seven year old daughter, three scottie dogs, a cat and a hamster.

I am married with a 3 y.o. daughter. Working on another child. I've been clean and sober for more than 7 yrs. My years at HSU taught me about a sense of community that I have brought to my medical practice. I am truely blessed.

Pam Webb, English, 1987, is pleased to announce the upcoming release of her book Someday We Will, published by Beaming Books. This is a book for grandparents and grandchildren who are separated by miles, and the wait until the next delightful visit can seem endless. In Someday We Will, kids and grandparents mark the time by dreaming of all the wonderful things they’ll do together someday, from bicycling down a hill to whiling away the hours on a beach. Someday We Will is perfect for grandparents and grandchildren who look at the calendar with impatience and longing for the the next fun-filled time with their loved ones.

Meg Godlewski

Journalism, 1987

Meg Godlewski, Journalism, 1987, writes video scripts for an online ground school for an international aviation company. She also travels around the country with Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association helping lapsed pilots get back into the cockpit. She is a full-time flight instructor and a columnist for Aviation for Women Magazine and writes stories for AOPA Flight Training. Away from the airport, Meg is working on _Payback is a Bitch_ and _ Sometimes it has Puppies_ , the sequel to _ The Thin Line Between Guts and Stupidity_ , a coming of age story based on experiences breaking into journalism while a student at HSU. Meg plans to attend the MLJ reunion in November.

Work at Weather Forecast Office Eureka, CA. Currently involved in the installation of many automatic weather data collection packages(DCPs)throughout northwestern California in conjunction with CA State Parks, CA Dept. of Water Resources and the CA/NV River Forecast Center.

Darryl Womack, 1987 English, has written his first book, “Tales of Westerford: Dragons, Knights and Kings,” to be released in June.

Meg Godlewski

Journalism, 1987

Meg Godlewski, 1987 Journalism, has combined journalism talent with a passion for aviation. She is celebrating 16 years as the staff reporter for General Aviation News, a national magazine. Godlewski also supplies the Ask the CFI column for Aviation for Women magazine, an international organization. Godlewski is a frequent contributor to aviation textbooks, combining humor with science, and technique. Godlewski is anticipating the publication of her first fiction novel sometime this summer, if she can work the edits and rewrite around a busy flying schedule.

Dr. Carolyn Dunn

Carolyn Dunn, 1986 Communication, was recently named associate vice president of institutional diversity for Central Michigan University. In addition to her new post, Dunn has contributed to Project Upward Bound, a program that trains students to succeed in college.

Matt Edwards

Theatre, 1986

Matt Edwards, 1986 Theatre, returns to Humboldt precisely 30 years later to pursue a single subject teaching credential. After graduation he received an MFA from The Old Globe Theatre / University of San Diego and lived in NYC for 25 years as a classical actor; working on Broadway, Off-Broadway, daytime TV and regional theaters around the nation. "I'm excited to return to HSU. I parked at my old house off sunset and made the same walk up to Founders Hall after a 30 year hiatus! Since I'm a New Yorker now, I cut 3-4 minutes off my commute! All my teachers are great and I really trust them."
