Chelsey Castiglione (she/her)
Program Coordinator and Violence Prevention Specialist
Originally from San Diego, I moved to Humboldt in 2009 to attend Humboldt State University. Since then, I've been proud to call Humboldt my home and dedicate my career to serving this amazing community. I worked as a reproductive health specialist and as a health educator for Planned Parenthood Northern California for over eight years. I still teach sex education and train others to teach sex education. I love sex education and fostering reproductive justice! I worked at United Indian Health Services for over three years on harm reduction based opioid use prevention and recovery program as well as on a youth suicide prevention program. I also worked at Open Door Community Health Centers on a grant focused on supporting perinatal people in substance use recovery and experiencing substance use disorder. I am thrilled to be at Cal Poly Humboldt contributing to campus wide violence prevention efforts. Violence Prevention includes prevention of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Personas, sex trafficking, and stalking. In my personal life, I enjoy running and socializing with friends.
