Lecturer - Biological Anthropology
Research Focus
My research background is in biological anthropology with a focus in both bioarchaeology and forensic anthropology. I am particularly interested in human health and the ways that humans experience both health and disease, past and present. I have worked for the past several years as part of an international team studying the impact of colonization on health in medieval Prussia and Poland. My current work involves exploring biocultural theories of aging as they relate to health across the lifespan in order to better understand the lived experiences of elderly adults in both bioarchaeological and forensic contexts. I am passionate about conducting collaborative interdisciplinary research and applying Anthropological concepts within the realm of Public Health to facilitate the creation of interventions that better address the needs and concerns of aging communities.
