Canvas Support is here to assist you!
At Humboldt, we use Canvas, a web-based Learning Management System to support teaching and learning. Canvas includes a variety of customizable course
creation and management tools, course and user analytics and statistics, and internal communication tools.
Students are enrolled in their classes one week before the fall and spring semesters and two weeks prior to summer sessions.

Canvas Integrations
Accessibility Tools Upgrade: UDOIT Now Available
Cal Poly Humboldt has transitioned to a new accessibility tool in Canvas called UDOIT by Cidi Labs. As of July 1, 2025, UDOIT has replaced Ally, which is no longer available.
UDOIT is a tool integrated within Canvas designed to help educators identify and address accessibility issues in their online course content. You’ll now find the tool “Check Accessibility with UDOIT” in the course navigation menu of all Canvas courses.
To align with the 2024 ADA Title II requirements, we encourage instructors to keep UDOIT enabled as a proactive step toward accessibility compliance.
With UDOIT, you can:
- Run full course accessibility reports
- Identify and fix accessibility issues
- Filter by content, issue, impact and level of impact
- Hide unused or unpublished files from reports
- Convert PDFs into Canvas pages with one click
- Improve course inclusivity and meet compliance standards
Note: UDOIT does not use Ally’s colored accessibility indicators. All accessibility information is accessed through the Course Accessibility Report.

DesignPLUS updates
Design Tools was upgraded to DesignPLUS on August 1st, 2025. The new and improved sidebar gives you ample opportunities for creating thoughtful, intentional, and accessible course content. Design Tools is no longer available.
