Campus Food Trucks and Concessions Guidelines

Concessions

Humboldt Catering has the exclusive right to provide concessions at Cal Poly Humboldt. This includes all performance and sporting events. Humboldt Catering has the first right of refusal, requiring that all requests for concessions at events be facilitated or approved by Humboldt Catering.

Humboldt Catering may elect to waive their right if they are not able to provide staffing for concessions at an event and allow the event to facilitate their own concessions.*

*All concessions must follow University guidelines for food, health and safety protocols, as well as all staff meeting cash handling training requirements.

Vendor Information

  • List of Approved Vendors
  • All catering requests (including Humboldt Catering [Chartwells]) must be submitted through the P2P system by using the Hospitality Form to initiate a requisition.
  • Advance planning is required. On-campus catering services should be requested at least two weeks in advance, with a Requisition and Purchase Order (PO) number in place before services occur.
  • Due to state fire marshal requirements, the use of sternos and open flame devices are no longer permitted on campus for indoor spaces. All caterers, including offsite caterers, cannot use sterno type products or open flame devices for heating hot food.
    • For outside catered events, a State Fire Marshal permit is required for the use of sternos or open flame heating equipment.
    • Our own campus catering, Humboldt Dining, has moved to alternate options for indoor heated catering. This includes heating packets as well as electric heaters.
    • Please ensure if you are working with an outside caterer that you notify them of this policy.
