Join the Book Circle! Image  | Join our book circle featuring Mentoring Relationships in Academia: Narratives from the Margins Editors: Dr. Meenal Rana, Professor, Child Development and Dr. Susan Bennett, Faculty Emerita, English Together, we’ll use the book as a starting point for meaningful conversations about mentoring. We’ll reflect on personal experiences, explore important questions, and share practices that have—or have not—worked for us. Space is limited, so sign up to reserve your spot. Participants will receive a free copy of the book and should plan to read a few selected chapters before each meeting. | Turn Your Course Content into a Game! | Ready to bring more play, challenge, and collaboration into your classroom? Join a six-session Professional Learning Community led by Kathleen Mercury, MAT, MET—educator and professional tabletop game designer—and learn how to transform a course objective into an engaging learning game or simulation. Through hands-on play, rapid prototyping, playtesting, and peer feedback, you’ll build practical game-design skills and create an experience you can use with your students. Up to 10 participants will be selected, and those who attend at least five sessions will receive a $200 stipend Apply by September 18, 2026. | Course Equity Ratio Report | The Humboldt Course Equity Ratio Report (CERR) offers a confidential exploration of your historical course data to investigate trends and/or patterns. The Office of Institutional Research, Analytics, and Reporting (IRAR) website is a great place to begin your exploration around course data, such as success rates, equity gaps, and other valuable information to inform your course and pedagogy Step 1: Download the Course Equity Ratio Report (CERR) Request Template and fill it out Step 2: Request a Course Equity Ratio Report through the Data Request Link and be sure you attach your spreadsheet. Note: CERRs are only for the instructor of record. If you wish to include sections from another instructor, approval from the other instructor and the Dean is required. The report will be provided within one to two weeks. Step 3: Feel free to meet with a CTL team member to discuss findings, ideas, and strategies | |

| Fall 2026/27 CSU Quality Learning and Teaching (QLT) Training + AI Tools for Teaching & Learning | Did you know that Humboldt is a QLT Campus? Learn how to apply the QLT to your course as a self-reflective tool and/or a tool to receive non-evaluative feedback on your course. CSU Online Course Services offers FREE Professional Development Courses Please register for a Professional Development course of your choice: Introduction to Teaching Using QLT Course Commitment: 3 weeks, 15-20 hours, online, asynchronous. AI Tools For Teaching & Learning (For Faculty) Introduction to Artificial Intelligence tools where guided experimentation empowers participants to understand some of the basics of AI functionality, including its workings and methods for detecting its usage. Learn basic AI terminology, engage in hands-on exploration of AI Tools, learn strategies for detecting AI-generated content, and techniques to address potential misuse of AI tools by students. Participants will apply the knowledge gained to develop a personalized AI use policy for their course, and find resources to maintain currency in this dynamic field.
