Certificate for Online Instruction Academy
The Certificate for Online Instruction Academy is a six-week online experience that provides an opportunity for you to engage in a journey that will lead to a Certificate for Online Instruction. This experience will support you in reimagining your teaching and your students’ learning through measurable actions empowered by a transformative collegial community.

The CTL's Professional Learning Communities (PLC) Program includes ongoing professional development opportunities for faculty and staff within a learning community model.

CTL Instructional Development Hub
A self-enroll Canvas course providing faculty with both a self-paced learning experience and a comprehensive repository. Access detailed, step-by-step guides for incorporating university-licensed technologies into your own Canvas courses. Find practical resources on instructional design, pedagogical best practices, and technology implementation to create engaging, effective learning experiences for your students. Enroll to explore at your own pace or use as an ongoing reference for your teaching needs.

Introduction to Online Teaching & Learning
February 9 - March 1, 2026
Register for the Introduction to Online Teaching & Learning
The Introduction to Online Teaching & Learning is a three-week asynchronous online course for educators who are new/newish to online teaching. Together, we will dive into the essentials of online teaching and students’ learning.
- Asynchronous online, ~2-3 hours per week
- Note: This is for educators who have zero to some online teaching experience
- Earn a Certificate of Completion

CTL Faculty Scholar Program
The CTL Scholar Program invites educators to collaborate with the Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL) in advancing campus-wide professional growth. Scholars can engage with a variety of activities including, but not limited to, designing and leading workshops, delivering lectures, facilitating professional learning communities, and/or contributing to research or resource development that enriches teaching and learning practices within and across instructional and technological modalities. Working in partnership with the CTL, Scholars will expand the center’s professional development offerings and help cultivate a vibrant culture of reflective, innovative, and evidence-informed pedagogy across the university.
Program Goals/Priority Areas
The CTL Scholar Program invites educators of all ranks to collaborate with the Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL) in advancing campus-wide professional growth. Submit a Scholar application for your CTL Faculty Scholar project. We especially encourage alignment with one or more of the following priorities:
Supporting Artificial Intelligence in teaching and learning
Advancing equitable and inclusive teaching practices
Supporting effective online, hybrid, or technology-enhanced learning
Strengthening assessment of student learning and reflective teaching
Building faculty and/or professional learning communities
Scholars will receive financial support based on the type and workload associated with the activity. Criteria for funding decisions include: scope, scale/reach, type and duration, and potential impact.
