Be aware that AI detection tools, while useful, are not infallible. They do not provide 100% accuracy in identifying AI-generated text. The effectiveness of these tools can vary significantly depending on the specific software used and the subscription level purchased. It's crucial for educators to understand that these tools are designed to flag suspicious content for further review rather than directly accuse students of cheating. Concerns remain regarding the potential for false positives and the ethical implications of relying solely on automated detection without human oversight and contextual understanding.

As the use of AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini become more prevalent in research and writing, it is essential to properly cite these sources. Failing to acknowledge AI as a source could be considered academic dishonesty or plagiarism, even if the AI-generated text is paraphrased. Citing AI sources appropriately not only gives credit where it is due, but also allows readers to evaluate the reliability and context of the information provided.
