Reusable Office Supply Exchange (R.O.S.E)
We stock FREE, lightly used classroom, office and art supplies and electronics, donated by the campus community, for the campus community! Come in and help yourself to items you need, or donate items you no longer need.

Location: Nelson Hall West Room 216
Fall and Spring Semester Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am - 5pm
We are CLOSED during Summer Break except by appointment.
Do you have something to donate or do you want to visit ROSE over the summer? Email Morgan (mpk9@humboldt.edu) to schedule an appointment. Please check below to see what we are/are not accepting before dropping anything off and for further information.
Please do NOT leave donations in the hallway outside of ROSE! This is a fire hazard and a disruption to building occupants.
More Information About R.O.S.E
The Reusable Office Supply Exchange (R.O.S.E) is your on-campus source for lightly used office, art and school supplies and electronics, free to the campus community.
- R.O.S.E focuses on resource accessibility in addition to waste reduction. R.O.S.E is an on campus resource that is a storehouse for used school supplies. Cal Poly Humboldt departments, local businesses, and students donate these supplies, which allows these resources to be made free to the wider campus community and thus easily accessible to other students.
- R.O.S.E offers these donated items for free, allowing vulnerable student populations to acquire necessary school supplies without facing financial repercussions.
- Through donations, R.O.S.E negates the need to produce products that create a waste stream of their own.
- Fun Fact: on average R.O.S.E saves the Humboldt student body an average $8,000 each semester and diverts approximately 1,500 pounds of waste from the landfill!
We accept donations of lightly used or brand new office, art and classroom supplies! Follow these steps to donate:
Step 1. Before donating, please check out this list of unacceptable items.
We love and appreciate your donations, but we cannot take everything!
Not sure it can be donated? email us at wrrap@humboldt.edu.
Step 2. Drop off donations in R.O.S.E. (NHW room 216), Mon-Fri between 7am-5pm.
Look for the signs that say, "leave donations here." Please do not just randomly add your donations to the shelved stock.

Step 3. Fill out the Check Out Form so we know what you are donating (and can thank you for it)!
Looking for a Refurbished Laptop, Computer, Monitor or Peripherals?
We work with Instructional Technology Support (ITS) to get surplus campus computer equipment to students in need!

We will reach out to you once we have equipment available. This is a first-come, first-served giveaway.
We host hands-on, engaging workshops to teach you how to creatively reuse stuff that would otherwise get thrown away:
- Merry Wasteless Gift Wrapping
- Plarn workshops (making hats and other things from yarn made out of plastic bags)
- Card-making (Valentine's Day, Christmas, etc)
- Notebook making/binding workshops
- And more!
