Jane Bardolf
Wildlife, 2001
After 35 years of public service including U.S. Peace Corps, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, and Finally 20 years with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Jane retired in April after working 6 years at Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge.
Heidi Gehlhaar Oriol
Environmental Resources Engineering, 2001
Heidi Gehlhaar Oriol, Environmental Resources Engineering, 2001, is a licensed Civil Engineer and has worked for water and wastewater utilities in the Bay Area and Sacramento since her graduation from HSU in 2001. She currently works as a Senior Civil Engineer in the Legislative and Regulatory Affairs office for the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District (Regional San) and the Sacramento Area Sewer District (SASD). She enjoys her role as a regulatory advocate and is also very excited to be supporting a project to bring recycled water to agriculture in southern Sacramento County. Heidi believes use of recycled water will reduce groundwater pumping, raise groundwater levels, increase flows in nearby streams, and improve wetland and vernal pool habitats.
Melissa Neufer

In summer 2019, Melissa Neufer, Biology, 2001, studied desert and marine landscapes through ecological and social field methods in Baja, Mexico. Melissa, a biology teacher at Roseland University Prep High School, lives in Santa Rosa, California, and is a graduate student in Miami University's Global Field Program.

Ty Robin Collins, Environmental Resources Engineering, was hired as a project manager for Manhard Consulting’s Eureka office, a civil engineering firm headquartered in Vernon Hills, Ill.
Rion Allbaugh

Rion Allbaugh, 2001 Forestry, met his wife Anne Marie Nielsen (‘01, Child Development) in the Siemens Hall Computer lab in 1999 and have been together ever since. Allbaugh is a Fire Captain for Cal Fire, and Anne Marie is a second grade teacher. They live in the Sierra Nevada Foothills with their son and dog. They look back upon their Humboldt State experience with great nostalgia and, if given the opportunity, would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Currently employed by Parsons Corporation at Fort Bliss, Texas as the Program Manager for the Integrated Training Area Management(ITAM)Program. Our program focuses on erosion and sediment control, native grass re-seeding, vegetation monitoring, maneuver trail maintenance and reconfiguration, protection of sites both of cultural and biological significance and education to our Military on the importance of being good stewards of the 1500 square miles of training land that encompasses Fort Bliss.
Jeff Oliveira

After graduation, Jeff Oliveira, Natural Resources, 2001, began working as a California Environmental Quality Act specialist for a consulting firm. He then became an environmental resource specialist with the County of San Luis Obispo managing projects with complex environmental concerns. Eight years ago he started his own consulting firm, Oliveira Environmental Consulting LLC, providing environmental review and permitting support for private and local government clients. Today he is working on a wide range of projects, including mine permitting, CEQA/NEPA review, permitting for local infrastructure improvement projects, permitting for affordable housing projects, construction monitoring, wildlife/botanical surveys, pest species (feral pig) removal, etc.

I won a two year NOAA NERR graduate fellowship to develop a project working on Gull-billed tern foraging movements and diet at The Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve.

Myshelle Charlon ('00, Biology, Zoology) is now leaving in the Bay Area with her family. She is working to develop effective, tolerable, and durable treatments to help patients with cancer thrive.
