How to Assign Due Dates for Peer Reviews
Unfortunately, Canvas doesn’t allow you to directly assign a due date for peer reviews. However, there is a workaround.
Step 1: Create an assignment with a due date.

Step 2: Require peer reviews and set them to be automatically assigned.

- Check Require Peer Reviews.
- Select the Automatically Assign Peer Reviews radio button.
- In the Reviews Per User field, enter the number of reviews you want each student to complete.
- In the Assign Reviews field, enter the date you want the peer reviews due by.
Step 3: Manually assign the peer reviews.
After the assignment due date has passed, open the assignment and click on the Peer Reviews link located under Related Items.

On the Peer Reviews page, click on the Assign Peer Reviews button.

Anyone who has submitted an assignment will automatically be assigned a peer review, and their Dashboard To Do due date for the peer review assignment will be the same as the peer review distribution date you set in the assignment.

NOTE: If a student submits their paper after the due date, you will have to manually press the Assign Peer Reviews button again to ensure that student’s paper gets reviewed, and that they also review their peers’ work.
