Register for the Introduction to Online Teaching & Learning

Introduction to Online Teaching & Learning is a three-week, asynchronous experience where you will engage in a shared journey leading to a Completion Certificate for Online. No online experience is necessary, however, you will be applying what you learn in a Canvas course. If you do not have a Canvas course, we can create one for you. We will dive into critical components of teaching guided by Backward Design and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) as we explore the fundamentals of online teaching and learning. As an online student in this course, you will have opportunities to engage in authentic experiences that take place within the culture, context, and activity where they occur and create content for your online course(s).

Course Outcomes:

  1. Design or redesign one activity/assessment in your course using the Backward Design method
  2. Create an accessible, mobile-responsive course using Canvas course design templates

  3. Apply at least one inclusive pedagogical practice in your online course

  4. Develop an inclusive online learning activity using a technology of your choice
