Credit by External Exam (A/AS Level, CBSE (India), IB, AP, etc.)
International students who have completed external examinations such as A-Levels, CBSE (India), Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), or CLEP may be eligible to receive college credit at Cal Poly Humboldt. Recognizing these internationally standardized curricula allows qualified students to begin their studies in the United States with advanced standing and potentially reduce time to degree.
A Level or AS Level Examinations
If you have completed A Level or AS Level examinations, Cal Poly Humboldt may award college credit for qualifying exam results. Credit may be granted for exams passed with a grade of C or higher. To receive credit, official results must be sent directly from the examination board (Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, OxfordAQA, and AQA) to Cal Poly Humboldt. Scores sent by the student or certified statements of exam results cannot be accepted.
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE - India)
Cal Poly Humboldt is among U.S. universities that may award college credit for qualifying CBSE Class XII examination results, recognizing the academic rigor of India’s CBSE curriculum.
If you have completed CBSE Class XII examinations, you may be eligible to receive college credit for qualifying exam results. Credit may be awarded for exams passed with a score of 81% or higher, or a grade of A1 or A2, subject to campus evaluation. In most cases, 3 semester units may be awarded per eligible exam, with a maximum of 30 semester units applicable toward General Education requirements.
Official examination results must be sent directly from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in order for credit to be evaluated. Final credit awards for General Education are determined by the university during the official transcript evaluation process.
