Morgan King
Climate Action Analyst
Morgan facilitates climate action and resiliency planning, advises students, and furthers the infusion of sustainability into campus operations and academics. He is the chair of the Sustainable Transportation Committee and a co-chair of the Humboldt Advisory Committee on Sustainability, the staff advisor for the Waste Reduction & Resource Awareness Program and the Bicycle Learning Center, and instructor in the Department of Environmental Science & Management. Morgan has over 20 years of experience working in sustainability, environmental education and green workforce development, having managed student driven energy efficiency education programs at California universities and public schools, developed high school level sustainability curriculum and teacher trainings, coordinated gardening, waste reduction and environmental education programs for public schools, and taught a certified energy auditor training series. He is a co-founder of Full Cycle Compost, a worker-owned, bicycle powered community compost service, and is a community volunteer, working with Surfrider Humboldt, Humboldt Trail Stewards and other organizations. Morgan holds a Master's degree in Social Science - Environment and Community from Cal Poly Humboldt, a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of California Santa Cruz, and was a Fisheries Extension Volunteer in Peace Corps Nepal. He is an avid surfer, cyclist and world traveler with his wife and daughter.
