Outdoor Adventures offers certification courses that support safer, more confident leadership in the outdoors. We offer wilderness medicine courses, kayak instructor courses, CPR and first aid training, along with many additional certifications. If you are studying forestry, geology, recreation administration, or you are already working in a career, get certified with us and be ready for the job.
IRA Funding for Wilderness Medicine Courses
Are you a student that sees yourself working as a field biologist, forester, or an adventure sport guide in the future? Careers like these require working in remote environments where access to medical care is limited but the risk for injury is high. Acquiring one of the industry standard NOLS Wilderness Medicine certifications is the best way to help prepare you to help someone on their worst day in the backcountry.
Outdoor Adventures has received funding from Cal Poly Associated Students Instructionally Related Activity Fee to provide NOLS Wilderness Medicine Courses at a reduced rate. Funding will be delivered based off of a requestors total score inline with the rubric listed below.
Applications close October 31st. Recipients will be notified no later than December 1st if they receive funding.
