Sport Clubs

Our sports clubs provide opportunities for you to participate in a competitive sport and compete with other off-campus clubs and Universities.

All sport clubs are actively recruiting members! If you are interested in joining a sport club please contact the club president, send an email to the team account, or drop in to a teams practice to meet the team and ask questions. If its a good fit for you you will have to complete the Registration process for the team you are interested in.

Completing the registration process will allow you to practice with the team, and will alert the Rec Sports Office to assign video trainings, and assign a $25 supplemental insurance fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

The number of active clubs changes each year, check the list above for the current offerings.

Each team sets its own dues based on their goals for the year, costs of their league, required equipment for the sport, and how much funding the Recreational Sports Office is able to provide. Those dues range from $25 a semester up to $500 for clubs that have higher costs. Stop by a practice or contact the club Treasurer to ask what the dues are for the club you are interested in.

There is one mandatory fee for participation in club sports, that is a $25 insurance fee charged by the school. It will be posted to your Student Center once you join a team.

Some of our clubs host tryouts early in the school year to gauge interest, build up their rosters, and identify the best players to help their team win. But, none of our clubs currently cut players from the club. Instead they will split the team into a traveling/competitive team, and a practice team. Members of the practice team are still full members of the team, attend club practices and events, they just won’t travel with the team or participate in matches.

Each team has its own rules about attending practice and being eligible for competitions. There is no rule from the Rec Sports office that requires you to attend practices or events. You are able to participate at your own desired level, but may not be able to play in games or competitions if you haven’t attended practices to learn the skills or game plan for the team.

There are several steps to be a driver for your team, and some age restrictions. The steps are listed below, and need to be completed in order. You can track your progress, and see all the required steps, in your DSE profile under the Documents tab.

  1. Log in to your DSE profile and check the Yes box next to the question asking if you want to be an approved driver. That will trigger you to fill out a google form to collect your information that the Rec Sports Office needs to initiate the process
  2. Sign the Volunteer Form through Adobe Sign
  3. Complete an online driving background check through Accurate background. You will get the notification by email
  4. Complete a Defensive Driving course through CSU Learn
    1. If you want to drive your personal vehicle you will also need to submit a copy of your car insurance to DSE, and sign a Personal Vehicle form in the Rec Sports Office.
