Summer Camps

Outdoor adventure, confidence-building skills, and unforgettable summer days on Humboldt Bay

Our Summer Camps are designed for middle and high school youth who are ready to get outside, build confidence, and learn new skills through hands-on aquatic adventure. With experienced instructors, small group learning, and Humboldt Bay as our classroom, campers spend their days active, engaged, and having fun in a supportive environment.

Registration opens March 1, 2026.

Confirmed 2026 Camp Dates

These are the only confirmed camp weeks at this time. Additional offerings and dates may be added as planning continues.

Who are they for?

Our camps serve youth ages 10–17 and are grouped by school level to ensure age-appropriate instruction, safety, and a positive camp experience.

  • Middle School Camps: Ages 10–13 (typically grades 5–8)
  • High School Camps: Ages 14–17 (typically grades 9–12)

No prior boating or aquatic experience is required. Campers should be comfortable in and around the water, and all instruction and safety equipment are provided.

Youth Sailing Camp

A hands-on introduction to small-boat sailing, seamanship, and teamwork. Campers learn by doing—spending their time actively sailing, practicing skills, and working together on the water rather than sitting in a classroom.

This two-week, half-day program runs Monday–Friday and is divided into:

  • Morning session: Middle school campers
  • Afternoon session: High school campers
  • Water safety and personal responsibility
  • Rigging and sailing small boats
  • Wind awareness, basic navigation, and teamwork
  • Confidence-building, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Scholarships & Accessibility

Scholarships & Financial Assistance

Outdoor Adventures is committed to making summer camp accessible to all families. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available for qualifying households for our Summer Camps.

Scholarship funding is made possible through the California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways (DBW) Aquatic Center Programs Grant, which supports equitable access to aquatic education and water safety programs across California.

Scholarship applications open March 1. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and may take up to two weeks to process, depending on application volume and funding availability.

Scholarship awards are based on family income, camp availability, and available funding. Please note that camp spaces are not reserved while scholarship applications are under review, as awards may be partial or full. We strongly encourage families to apply as early as possible.
