Healthy Communities, Stronger Workforce: The Future of Care in the Redwood Region

Welcome to the Health and Caregiving Sector Hub of Redwood Region RISE — where healthcare and childcare are recognized as foundational to a strong workforce and thriving communities. Powered by innovative care delivery and a "grow your own" approach to workforce development, we are building a resilient ecosystem that expands access, strengthens provider capacity, and drives policy innovation — ensuring quality care for every resident across our region.

Our Health & Caregiving Strategies

This strategy focuses on improving access by strengthening both the workforce and service delivery models. Tactics include expanding education-to-employment pipelines, launching and scaling training programs, and improving recruitment and retention. It also promotes telehealth adoption to extend care reach, especially in behavioral health, through pilots, workforce expansion, and public awareness efforts.

This strategy aims to increase the system’s physical and operational capacity to deliver care. Tactics include developing hub-based service models to coordinate care and shared services, as well as investing in facility upgrades, childcare infrastructure, and expansion planning to meet growing demand.

This strategy targets structural barriers through data-driven planning and policy advocacy. Tactics focus on improving labor market and service demand analysis, as well as advancing rural-focused policy initiatives and funding alignment to better support healthcare and caregiving systems.
