Renewable and Resilient Energy

Powering a Just and Climate-Ready Future

Welcome to the Renewable and Resilient Energy Sector Hub of Redwood Region RISE — where clean energy initiatives are preparing the region for a low-carbon, climate-ready future. With Tribal leadership and innovation at the forefront, the Redwood Region is well positioned to lead a just energy transition — advancing workforce development, strengthening community energy resilience, and ensuring that rural communities can shape and benefit from the opportunities ahead.

Our Renewable & Resilient Energy Strategies

This strategy focuses on building a skilled and inclusive clean energy workforce. Tactics include forming regional partnerships to design training programs, launching workforce initiatives like Clean Energy Corps projects, and preparing local businesses to participate in energy projects and supply chains—especially through targeted training, Tribal engagement, and industry coordination.

This strategy aims to expand resilient, community-scale energy systems and improve energy access. Tactics include deploying microgrids and clean energy infrastructure (especially for Tribal communities), scaling efficiency and electrification programs for homes and businesses, supporting Tribal- and worker-owned energy enterprises, and advancing bioenergy and waste-to-energy projects.

This strategy focuses on improving coordination, knowledge exchange, and public support for the energy transition. Tactics include developing regional clean energy hubs and digital platforms, building collaborative research networks that integrate Traditional Ecological Knowledge, conducting public education and engagement campaigns, and providing policy and regulatory support to local governments.
