Last day to provide 30 Days notice to vacate the residence halls at the end of the fall semester
Residents must complete a Vacate Form in the myHousing portal if they will be moving out of the residence halls at the end of the fall semester. A 30 days' notice is required to avoid penalties. Residents that move out before the end of the full Academic Year 2024-2025 will be charged the $200 cancellation fee for breaking their agreement.
Fall Break
Fall Break is November 25 - November 29. The residence halls will remain open. Limited services are available on-campus during break.
Room Assignments Emailed to New Spring 2025 Residents
Room assignments will be emailed to all students that submitted a housing application for the Spring 2025 semester. If all spaces are reserved, students will be notified of placement on a waiting list. Students are not guaranteed a space in the residence halls until a guarantee of assignment or a room assignment email has been received.
Winter Break
Winter Break is December 21, 2024 - January 20, 2025. The residence halls will remain open. Limited services are available during break.
Last day for New Spring Residents to Cancel Application Without Penalties
Cancellations must be submitted through the myHousing portal or by email to housing@humboldt.edu by January 2, 2025. Cancellations to any other university office does not satisfy the requirement to notify the Housing Office directly. All cancellations will forfeit the nonrefundable application fee of $100.
Residence Halls Open for New Spring 2025 residents
The residence halls open for new Spring 2025 residents on January 13, 2025. (Continuing residents who lived on-campus during the fall semester can stay for the winter break, or return at any time if they leave.)
Spring Housing & Meal Plan Payment Due
Amounts will vary according to room assignment and meal plan selected. Refer to your myHumboldt account for your specific payment amount.
Last Day to Reduce Meal Plan for the Spring Semester
Please send an email to housing@humboldt.edu to cancel or reduce your meal plan by this deadline.
2025 - 2026 Housing Application Opens to Explore!
Beginning February 4th at 11am, students that have accepted their admission to Cal Poly Humboldt can log into myHousing.humboldt.edu to select their preferred living areas, meal plan selection and read the documents, pay the $100 Housing Application Fee and complete any preliminary information. The application officially opens on February 18th at 3pm for First-Year Students, 9am on February 19th for New Transfers, February 20th at 9am for Continuing Students (with the last name A-L), and February 21st at 9am for Continuing Students (with the last name M-Z) and all that will be left to do is sign the license agreement and submit the application. Housing is assigned on a first come, first served basis determined by the day you complete the application process. (Continuing students that apply February 20 (A-L) and February 21 (M-Z) will be considered as applying on the first day, and will be time stamped, based on the time they submit their application).

First-Year students can submit their Housing Application in their myHousing portal and pay the $100 nonrefundable application fee starting on February 18, 2025 at 3pm. Only admitted and provisionally admitted students that have accepted their admission to Cal Poly Humboldt can access the Housing Application.
2025 - 2026 Housing Application opens to submit for New Transfers!
Transfer students can submit their Housing Application in their myHousing portal and pay the $100 nonrefundable application fee starting on February 19, 2025 at 9am. Only admitted and provisionally admitted students that have accepted their admission to Cal Poly Humboldt can access the Housing Application.
2025 - 2026 Housing Application Opens to Submit for Continuing Students with Last Names A-L!
Housing Application in the myHousing portal opens to submit for Continuing Students with last names that start with A-L. In order to limit the number of students in the portal at once, Continuing Students with last names that start with A-L can submit their Housing Application starting on February 20, 2025, at 9am. Continuing students that apply February 20 (A-L) and February 21 (M-Z) will be considered as applying on the first day, and will be time stamped, based on the time they submit their application. Housing is first come, first served determined by the date and time the application is submitted.
Roommate Finder opens for New Residents
Roommate Finder will open in the myHousing portal on March 1, 2025 for new students that choose to look for a roommate. Students will be assigned with preferred roommates when space is available. If students are not able to be roomed with their preferred roommate or one has not been selected, students will be matched based on the preferences indicated in the Profile Questions in the application.
Spring Break
Spring Break is March 17 - March 21. The residence halls will remain open. Some services on-campus will be limited during break.
Priority Notification Deadline for Housing Assignments
Priority notification deadline to submit completed application for the first run of room assignment notifications. Room assignments or wait list notifications will be emailed in late May. Applications submitted after this date will get their room assignment or wait list notification emails in June or July.
Summer Housing Application Opens
The 2025 Summer Housing application opens at 9am on April 3rd in the myHousing portal. Summer residents are required to be enrolled in at least 1 unit for the summer.
First Round of Room Assignments, Guarantee or Waitlist Notification Emails
Room assignments and waitlist notifications will be emailed in May to students who submitted an application by the April 1, 2025 priority deadline.
Residence Halls Close
Residence Halls close at 10am on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
Last Day to Cancel Housing Application for Fall 2024 and Provide 30 Days Notice
Students who wish to cancel their Housing Agreement must notify the Housing Office by canceling through their myHousing portal or by email of this decision by July 18, 2025. Notifying any other university office does not satisfy your obligation to notify Housing & Residence Life. Such requests that are received by July 18 will be honored; all cancellations will forfeit the nonrefundable application fee of $100.
Cancel on or after July 19th
Beginning July 19, 2025, requests to cancel will be honored; however, these requests will forfeit the $100 nonrefundable application fee, be charged a $200 cancellation fee, and charged a prorated daily penalty fee for each day of notice that is less than the required 30 days’ notice.
Deadline to Upload Photo for Humboldt ID
Please follow the instructions emailed to you by Admissions to upload your photo for your Humboldt ID. Also found here. New students are required to submit your photo by the deadline. We will print your ID card, encode it with your room and meal plan access, and have it ready for you at check-in. If you upload your photo after the deadline, we will have a temporary access card for your room and you will need to go to the ID Office in the Library to pick up your Humboldt ID plan to bring to Housing to encode.
Residence Halls Open For New Transfer & Continuing Students
The residence halls will open for the year at 8:00 am, Monday, August 18, 2025. Anyone checking into the residence halls on Monday will have an assigned check-in time.
Residence Halls Open for First-Year Students
The residence halls will open for the year at 8:00 am, Saturday, August 16, 2025 for First-Year Students. Anyone checking into the residence halls on Saturday will have an assigned check-in time.

Spring 2026 Housing Application Opens at 9am
Spring Only online Housing application opens at 9am at myhousing.humboldt.edu for all new students who have accepted their admission to Cal Poly Humboldt for Spring 2026. Students will not be able to access the Housing Application until they've accepted their admission.
