Nov 23 - 27 2026Fall Break is November 23 - November 27. The residence halls will remain open. Limited services are available on-campus during break.
Room Assignments Emailed to New Spring 2027 Residents
Dec 14 2026Room assignments will be emailed to all students that submitted a housing application for the Spring 2027 semester.
Winter Break
Dec 19 2026 - Jan 18 2027Winter Break is December 19, 2026 - January 18, 2027. The residence halls will remain open. Limited services are available during break.
Residence Halls Open for New Spring 2027 residents
Jan 11 2027The residence halls open for new Spring 2027 residents on January 11, 2027. (Continuing residents who lived on-campus during the fall semester can stay for the winter break, or return at any time if they leave.)
Spring Housing & Meal Plan Payment Due
Jan 14 2027Amounts will vary according to room assignment and meal plan selected. Refer to your myHumboldt account for your specific payment amount.
Last Day to Reduce Meal Plan for the Spring Semester

2027 - 2028 Housing Application Opens to Explore!
Feb 2 2027Beginning February 2 at 11am, students that have accepted their admission to Cal Poly Humboldt can log into myHousing.humboldt.edu to select their preferred living areas, meal plan selection and read the documents, pay the $100 Housing Application Fee and complete any preliminary information. The application officially opens on February 16 at 3pm for First-Year Students, 9am on February 17 for New Transfers, February 18 at 9am for Second Year Students and February 19 at 9am for Continuing Students. All that will be left to do is sign the license agreement and submit the application. Housing is assigned on a first come, first served basis determined by the day you complete the application process.
2027 - 2028 Housing Application opens to submit for First-Year Students!
Feb 16 2027First-Year students can submit their Housing Application in their myHousing portal and pay the $100 nonrefundable application fee starting on February 16, 2027 at 3pm. Only admitted and provisionally admitted students that have accepted their admission to Cal Poly Humboldt can access the Housing Application.
2027 - 2028 Housing Application opens to submit for New Transfers!
Feb 17 2027Transfer students can submit their Housing Application in their myHousing portal and pay the $100 nonrefundable application fee starting on February 17, 2027 at 9am. Only admitted and provisionally admitted students that have accepted their admission to Cal Poly Humboldt can access the Housing Application.
2027 - 2028 Housing Application Opens to Submit for Second Year Students
Feb 18 2027The Housing Application for second-year students will open in the myHousing portal on February 18, 2027, at 9:00 a.m. Students can complete their application at that time. Housing is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, determined by the date and time the application is submitted.
2027 - 2028 Housing Application Opens to Submit for Continuing Students
Feb 19 2027The Housing Application for continuing students will open in the myHousing portal on February 19, 2027, at 9:00 a.m. Students can complete their application at that time. Housing is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, determined by the date and time the application is submitted.
Roommate Finder opens for All Residents
Mar 1 2027Roommate Finder will open in the myHousing portal on March 1, 2027 for students that choose to look for a roommate. Students will be assigned with preferred roommates when space is available. If students are not able to be roomed with their preferred roommate or one has not been selected, students will be matched based on the preferences indicated in the Profile Questions in the application.
Spring Break
Mar 15 - 19 2027Spring Break is March 15 - March 19. The residence halls will remain open. Some services on-campus will be limited during break.
Priority Notification Deadline for Housing Assignments
Apr 1 2027Priority notification deadline to submit completed application for the first run of room assignment notifications. Room assignments or wait list notifications will be emailed in late May. Applications submitted after this date will get their room assignment or wait list notification emails in June or July.
Summer Housing Application Opens
Apr 2 2027The 2027 Summer Housing application opens at 9am on April 2nd in the myHousing portal. Summer residents are required to be enrolled in at least 1 unit for the summer.
First Round of Room Assignments, Guarantee or Waitlist Notification Emails
May 7 2027Room assignments and waitlist notifications will be emailed in May to students who submitted an application by the April 1, 2027 priority deadline.
Residence Halls Close
May 15 2027Residence Halls close at 10am on Saturday, May 15, 2027.
Cancel on or after July 16th
Jul 16 2027Beginning July 17, 2026, requests to cancel will be honored; however, these requests will forfeit the $100 nonrefundable application fee, be charged a $200 cancellation fee, and charged a prorated daily fee for each day of notice that is less than the required 30 days’ notice.
Last Day to Cancel Housing Application for Academic Year 2026-27 and Provide 30 Days Notice
Jul 16 2027Students who wish to cancel their Housing Agreement must notify the Housing Office by canceling through their myHousing portal or by email of this decision by July 16, 2027. Notifying any other university office does not satisfy your obligation to notify Housing & Residence Life. Such requests that are received by July 16 will be honored; all cancellations will forfeit the nonrefundable application fee of $100.
Deadline to Upload Photo for Humboldt ID
Jul 23 2027Please follow the instructions emailed to you by Admissions, or click here to upload your photo for your Humboldt ID. New students are required to submit your photo by the deadline. We will print your ID card, encode it with your room and meal plan access, and have it ready for you at check-in. If you upload your photo after the deadline, we will have a temporary access card for your room and you will need to go to the ID Office in the Library to pick up your Humboldt ID plan to bring to Housing to encode.
Residence Halls Open for First-Year Students
Aug 14 2027The residence halls will open for the year at 8:00 am, Saturday, August 14, 2027 for First-Year Students. Anyone checking into the residence halls on Saturday will have an assigned check-in time.
Residence Halls Open For New Transfer & Continuing Students
Aug 16 2027The residence halls will open for the year at 8:00 am, Monday, August 16, 2027. Anyone checking into the residence halls on Monday will have an assigned check-in time.

Last day to Reduce Meal Plan for the Fall Semester
Sep 3 2027Please send an email to housing@humboldt.edu to reduce your meal plan by this deadline.
Last day to provide 30 Days notice to vacate the residence halls at the end of the fall semester
Nov 18 2027Residents must complete a Vacate Form in the myHousing portal if they will be moving out of the residence halls at the end of the fall semester. A 30 days' notice is required to avoid additional charges. Residents that move out before the end of the full Academic Year 2027-2028 will be charged the $200 cancellation fee for breaking their agreement.
