Meet Our Writing Studio Consultants

Writing Studio consultants help other students organize and revise their writing assignments for courses in any subject area. Consultants typically meet with individual students in person or online. Consultants work with students to identify areas of a piece of writing that would benefit from revision, and assist the student's efforts to strengthen the overall paper, rather than proof-reading or making changes for the student.

Major: Environmental Science & Management (Education & Interpretation)

Hobbies: I wear many hats when it comes to my hobbies so feel free to ask me what i’m up to these days! At the moment I’m enjoying trail running, looking for salamanders under wet logs, & making dinner with friends (most recently attempted a lasagna).

One of my favorite aspects of the human experience comes when our sense of self efficacy deepens. I enjoy seeing myself, friends, & peers find new ways to impress ourselves when stepping out of our comfort zones. Being willing to learn while making mistakes can often be a vulnerable experience. I look forward to fostering a safe environment where students feel they can pick themselves back up & try again!

Why I became a Tutor: I’ve always enjoyed writing as a subject, and I find the writing process simultaneously interesting and incredibly frustrating, especially when you try to go at it alone. I often forget that writing is supposed to be a collaborative activity, and I want to be able to make others comfortable with that aspect of it.
