Paola Ferreyra

Hi my name is Paola Ferreyra, and I am running for the Associated Students Officer of Environmental
Sustainability role. I am a current second year student going into my third year with a Major in
Oceanography and a Minor in Geology. I am the first generation Mexican-American college student in
my family. As a woman of colour representation and community are incredibly important to me, and I
strive to involve this with everything I do.
During my time here at Cal Poly Humboldt a primal goal of mine has been to get involved with my
community as much as possible. I am a first year College Corps fellow and soon to be second year, but
my time with College Corps has shown me how powerful community involvement is for the sustainability
of our environment. I've Since been involved with multiple different community groups I believe it is
incredibly important that we together share our different ideas and beliefs to help make a difference.
If elected for the position, my goal is to bring more awareness to Environmental Sustainability efforts on
and off campus. As well as involving all members of the campus community to not only have an opinion
but a voice on campus.
