Kubie Ablan

Hello! My name is Kubie. I am originally from the city of LA and moved to Humboldt as a transfer student a few years ago. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology here at Cal Poly Humboldt, and I am currently a first-year master’s student in the Counseling Psychology program. I have a background working with elementary school children as well as with elders. I hope to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for students to explore themselves and their diverse experiences. My goal is to build a warm, open, and collaborative therapeutic relationship with the students I serve. I approach my work through a multicultural lens, honoring each person’s unique experiences, identities, and perspectives. Some of my interests include mindfulness-based, trauma-informed, somatic, and relational therapies.

In my free time I enjoy cooking, hiking, listening to music, and playing with my dog, Mugi.
