Campus Implementation Team

As part of a California State University effort to improve Title IX processes, the Cozen O’Connor Institutional Response Group assessed how the CSU and its 23 campuses respond to reports and incidents of discrimination and harassment—which includes all conduct that falls under Title IX.

Cozen O’Connor compiled its findings in a report, which identifies core observations for improvements both at the system level, and those applicable to each of the 23 CSU campuses.

Implementation Team

The Implementation Team, is a broad cross-section of campus stakeholders who are responsible for recommending how to implement Cozen O’Connor’s suggestions. Additionally the team is charged with developing a communications plan designed to keep the campus community apprised about the implementation process and status.

What we’ve done
  • June 18, 2025 - updated Cal Poly Humboldt's iPlan (last updated June 2, 2025)
  • August 2024 - Launched the campus reporting website to assist the campus and community in addressing concerns covered under existing CSU policies and "Other Conduct of Concern"
  • June 2024 - Finalized "Other Conduct of Concern" process to address concerns from campus and community members that fall outside of existing CSU policies
  • November 8, 2023 - submitted Final Communications Plan to Chancellor's Office
  • October 2023 - developed spreadsheets (one for each recommendation):
  • September 2023 - Kickoff Meeting with Implementation Team Members on September 6, 2023
  • July 2023 - Cozen Implementation Team met with vice presidents and stakeholders to begin work on systematically addressing reports of behavior that do not constitute violations of the Nondiscrimination Policy, but still must be addressed (referred to as "Other Conduct of Concern")
  • April 2023 - Cal Poly Humboldt’s Cozen O’Connor Implementation Team announced
  • January 2023 - CSU Title IX Assessment Survey distributed campus-wide
  • December 2022 - Cozen O’Connor’s site visit to Cal Poly Humboldt
What we’re doing
  • Implementing the use of a shared case management system, Maxient, across key departments (Title IX & DHR, Dean of Students, Human Resources, and Academic Personnel Services)
  • Developing and refining clear processes for grievances of varying severity to be addressed and resolved through Title IX & DHR, Dean of Students, Human Resources, and Academic Personnel Services
  • Creating a clear communications plan regarding the status of implementation efforts for our campus community and key stakeholders
