Find Funding

Our Research Development team helps connect faculty and staff with the resources needed to advance research, scholarship, creative activities, and programs. We offer tailored funding searches, training on how to use our grant database, Pivot, and also coordinate grant writing workshops, presentations, and programs that support successful proposal development and funding acquisition.

Personalized Funding Support

Funding Searches: Research Development Support Coordinators offer personalized funding searches to help connect you with funding opportunities that align with your project needs. The process begins with an initial meeting to discuss your goals, after which they conduct a tailored search and develop a list of relevant funding opportunities.

Pivot Trainings: They also provide trainings on how to use Pivot, Cal Poly Humboldt’s grant database. These trainings are available one-on-one or for groups via Zoom, and cover how to create a Pivot profile, set up and save customized funding searches that run in the background, access curated grant lists managed by SPF, and more.

To request a funding search or schedule a Pivot training, please contact the Research Development team.

Funding Sources

Remember that most grant opportunities are available on a regular (annual, biannual, etc.) basis. If a deadline has passed, a Research Development Coordinator will be happy to contact the funder to inquire when/if the next round of funding will be available. Keep a list of potential grants and grant deadlines handy so you can develop a research plan!

  • Engagement Hub - The one-stop-shop to access and search for internal funding opportunities within the Humboldt campus community. When departments or divisions advertise internal calls for funding, mini-grants, or awards, it can often be challenging to know where to look. Engagement Hub acts as one central repository for internally funded small grants, awards, stipends, etc.
  • CSU Office of Research - Research, scholarship and creative activity touch every part of the California State University — enhancing learning and preparing students for the jobs of the future. The breadth and depth of this work spans 23 campuses through shared expertise, facilities and resources.
