Upcoming Meetings

  • Working Lands and Blue Economy-focused Collaborative Meeting
    Thursday, July 30th from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. | Zoom Link | Meeting ID: 837 4650 6529 | Passcode: 026825

From sheep camps to ice houses, our region's Working Lands and Blue Economy sector is proving that grassroots grit gets statewide results. Meet Fire Lines & Fiber Bioregions, the scrappy sheep-herding operation using California Jobs First Catalyst funds to run hands-on "Camp Kaos" workshops on ruminant health — and turning raw wool into new revenue through a budding New Zealand processing connection made possible through RRRISE support.

Hear how Career Pathways: Fire, Forest, Fish & Facilities and its regional partners are training local, Tribal, and rural residents for careers in fire, forestry, fisheries, and restoration — turning prescribed burns and watershed work into paid, close-to-home pathways that are already rebuilding volunteer fire departments and putting local youth on career tracks in the communities that raised them.

Behind stories like this is a lot of quiet matchmaking: as Sector Investment Coordinator, West Business Development Center connects partners and funding opportunities across the region, work that helped stand up Noyo Harbor's first commercial ice house and contributed to a pilot project GO-Biz and California Jobs First leadership have named among the state's most successful.

Join us to hear directly from the people and projects driving agriculture, forestry, and ocean industries forward, and see how regional collaboration is putting the Redwood Region on the map. (Zoom Link | Meeting Agenda)
