Alyssa Ledesma
Graduate Research Assistant
Alyssa Ledesma Araiza (she/her) is a graduate student in the Environment and Community M.A. program at Cal Poly Humboldt. She is a first generation scholar and earned her Bachelor's degree in Sustainability Studies from the University of California, Riverside. Alyssa has a background in natural resource stewardship, forest health restoration, and circular economy initiatives. Her current research aims to bridge western ecological science with Indigenous Science, highlighting Indigenous cultural views by focusing on cultural fire practices and indigenous food ways. Alyssa is a citizen of the Gabrielino/Tongva Nation and a Mexican descendant.
