Lab Safety Training Sessions

Mandatory lab safety training sessions for student researchers and employees who are working with chemicals are being offered online through Canvas. 

HAZWOPER Training (40hr and 8hr Annual Refresher)

The 40-Hour HAZWOPER and 8-Hour Annual Refresher courses prepare participants for safe work at hazardous waste sites and with hazardous materials. Training includes identifying hazardous conditions, proper use of personal protective equipment, and instituting safe work practices.

The course additionally includes instruction on chemical safety, site control, decontamination, and the regulatory framework governing these practices. Participants will complete the course with the necessary knowledge to ensure the safety of themselves, their coworkers, and the ecological surroundings while working in sites with hazardous materials.

Training is offered periodically throughout the year for a fee. Please reach out to Risk Management if interested.
